Two children walking down a street had a lucky escape when a 150-year-old house collapsed inches away.

The dramatic incident occurred in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India on Friday (Oct 11).

CCTV footage shows a woman walking ahead of the two children when suddenly the deteriorating building crumbled into a heap of rubble.

The children narrowly managed to avoid the falling debris by mere seconds, making it a miraculous near-miss.

The house, owned by the Jain Saman Trust, had been in a state of neglect for years.
