Reports of his killing had been circulating for several hours and photos of a body resembling Sinwar being shared on social media. Israeli troops reportedly engaged the terrorists in a building and only noticed the resemblance to the Hamas leader after his killing. Formal identification and DNA testing were subsequently completed.
