The United Nations reported that at least 5.4 million people in Haiti are in a situation of famine, as a consequence of the violence in the country. According to the agency's report, more than two million Haitians are facing emergency levels of hunger. The text points out that one out of four displaced people suffer from food insecurity, while six thousand Haitians are forced to abandon their homes and could be at an acute level of hunger.
