Delta Air Lines filed a lawsuit in Georgia against cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike. The lawsuit alleges breach of contract and negligence due to a software update fault that led to July’s extensive outage impacting millions of computers. The incident caused the cancellation of 7,000 Delta flights, a loss of nearly $650 million. Delta’s complaint accused CrowdStrike of bypassing critical testing processes, asserting that a single test would have exposed the faulty update. Delta also cited a backdoor vulnerability in CrowdStrike’s software, which it claims was unauthorized.
