Tasmanian councils slam proposed planning legislation ahead of state parliament debate

Tasmanian state parliament will debate divisive legislation to establish development assessment panels when it returns this week. While backers of the bill say it would take the politics out of planning by involving independent bodies, councils have slammed the state government for rushing consultation and sidelining them.
