The Southside’s Park Lane Market is entering the city centre for their biggest ever Christmas event, encouraging people to shop locally for gifts.
Popping up at the Social Hub in Candleriggs on Saturday 30 November, one of Glasgow’s longest running and most established markets, will be bringing curated arts, crafts, vintage clothing, and music along for a festive shopping experience.
In the past few years a number of permanent and pop up markets have opened across the city, offering local traders a platform to access customers, generate profits and gain recognition.
Here are some other markets running before 25 December where you can go for some festive shopping.
There is of course the Barras Market in the East End, open Saturdays and Sundays between 10am and 4pm - the oldest and most renowned in the city with an abundance of stalls and food offerings.
Then there’s the Forge, another East End staple, with over 180 traders it’s open Thursdays to Sundays between 10 and 5.
And then there’s the Milngavie farmers market on Douglas Street open on the first and third Friday of each month - where you can find locally sourced produce, home baking, handmade gifts and cards.
And then at the weekends and on Wednesdays you can visit the Southside for Polmadie’s Car Boot Sale where you can find everything from DVDs, fruit, clothes, and other little treasures.
