Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Thursday that Russia is selecting new targets in Ukraine, including possible strikes on "decision-making centers" in Kyiv.

This follows Ukrainian long-range attacks on Russian territory using Western-supplied missiles.
While Russian forces have not yet targeted government buildings in Kyiv, the capital is heavily defended by air defenses.

Putin, however, claimed that Russia's Oreshnik hypersonic missile, first tested in a strike on November 21, is incapable of being intercepted.
