That said, semi-digital typewriters would already have been fairly outdated in 1986. You'd be better off running a Commodore 64, BBC Micro or Acorn Electron hooked up to a dot-matrix printer.

It's possible the model seen in the video is a Phillips something-or-other since they are referenced in the credits of this episode and they did produce this sort of thing at the time. I'll have to research this further.
