At Art Basel Miami Beach, Meredith Rosen Gallery presents works by Charlemagne Palestine, Carla Accardi, Karl Gerstner, and Gowoon Lee. The presentation is titled “Strumming” after Charlemagne Palestine’s Strumming Music, the catalyst for the artist’s practice combining visual art, musical composition and performance. Part of the show is a new pianoforte installation by Charlemagne Palestine using toy "divinities”.

Palestine (b. 1947 Brooklyn, lives and works Belgium) is one of the most significant experimental musicians and conceptual artists associated with 1960-70s New York avant-garde. Palestine engages in ritualistic processes to produce expansive installations using "divinities" which create a performative community in constant transformation and visceral dialogue. Palestine has been included in the Whitney Biennial (2014) and documenta 8, and solo's at M HKA, MoMA PS1, Kunsthalle Wein, 365 Mission, among others. In 2023, Meredith Rosen Gallery held the first solo exhibition of Palestine’s work in New York in 2023 since he was championed by Illeana Sonnabend from 1975-2014. (source: Meredith Rosen Gallery).
