Drone footage released by the Philippine Red Cross shows a town covered in ash after a volcano eruption in the Central Philippine province of Negros Occidental. Mt. Kanlaon erupted for a second time this year on Monday, sending an ash cloud 4km into the sky.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) raised its alert level to 3, meaning there is an increased risk of lava flows and the potential for a hazardous eruption. The civil defense office said emergency evacuations were underway for people living near the volcano.
