Interviewer: You're back. You were forerunning the DH Training Run today. First how are you today?
Lindsey: It’s incredible and I’m happy to be back. To be with my team and feel the speed in my face. It was a lot of fun. Before it was training but today to race in World Cup was different. It was a step forward and let’s see what will happen during the next days.
Interviewer: Also on such a difficult slope. Would you say that you are ready for your first World Cup race?
Lindsey: I've to watch the videos. I was a bit cautious today but I was stable on the skis the jumps weren’t so wide. It wasn’t as difficult as we thought. It turns more than the mens course and less speed. It was fine but I have to a wait a bit.
Interviewer: The most important thing your knee doesn’t make any problems?
Lindsey: No problems. No swelling and no pain. It’s really different as it was before that makes me really happy.
Interviewer: It was speculated a lot why you make this Comeback. What’s the reason?
Lindsey: Why not. It was always the problem that I had to many injuries and I fighted but it didn’t work in the end. I had enough time for me. This surgery went well so I thought why not. Life is short. I will live these moments to the fullest.
Interviewer: Would you say your career didn’t feel closed.
Lindsey: No. My career is closed that is a new chapter. I’m feeling good. Unfortunately I’m 40 years old but in my heart I don’t feel so old. It is a lot of fun and I work really hard. You have to work hard to race in the Downhill. But as I said I have different outlook from life. My mother died two years ago and when you have a opportunity you have to take it. I won’t say when I died that I didn’t give a 100 percent in my life.
Interviewer: What are your goals?
Lindsey: It’s for me. I have to be patient which I’m not good at. I have to make small steps don’t look to much forward in my head. For sure I have goals but that is not so important. I've to life in this moment.
Interviewer: There were also some critics from former ski racers. Did it bother you?
Lindsey: This always happens. People like me or don’t like me. I don’t know why. I’m only me and I’m only skiing for me. I everything alright after my surgery my doctor always gave me the green light. He said I can continue to ski. People who say something about me don’t know the situation and I don’t care.
Interviewer: A Comeback needs a lot of braveness. Marcel Hirscher had a Comeback & crashed. Do you also think about that it’s also dangerous?
Lindsey: Downhill is always dangerous. It was the same when I was 16 and now when I’m 40. It’s always the same. For me I’m brave & I always wanted to ski faster. It’s dangerous for sure but it’s also a lot of fun. It can be that I crash but that’s life.
Interviewer: Is it fix that you are racing in St.Moritz?
Lindsey: No. I've to look at the videos from today & maybe tomorrow after the training I can make a decision.
