The Christmas and New Year's holiday period is set to break travel records for both air and road, according to AAA. TSA expects to screen nearly 40 million air travelers from December 19th to January 2nd, a more than 6% increase from 2023. The FAA forecasts December 19th as the busiest air travel day, followed by December 27th and December 20th. For road travel, over 100 million people are forecasted to drive to holiday destinations between December 21st and January 1st, up by over 2 million from last year. Traffic is expected to be light on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
