Gisèle Pélicot spoke after the verdict in the Pelicot rape trial was given on Thursday, December 19 in Avignon, southern France. She said that she was thinking "of the unacknowledged victims" of sexual violence.

The French court handed down sentences ranging from three years' imprisonment, two of which were suspended, to 20 years' imprisonment for the main defendant, Dominique Pelicot.
