A Russian missile attack on Kyiv killed one person, injured at least seven, and caused fires and damage across the city on Friday, Ukrainian officials reported.

Kyiv's military administration said Russian forces launched eight missiles, including hypersonic Kinzhal and Iskander ballistic missiles. Ukraine's air force claimed to have intercepted five ballistic missiles and 40 drones, with 20 other drones failing to reach their targets. In total, 65 Russian drones were launched overnight, according to the air force.

Russia's Defense Ministry stated it targeted a Ukrainian SBU intelligence command center, the Looch design bureau involved in missile production, and a U.S.-made Patriot anti-aircraft missile system in Kyiv.
