Father dies at Carlton Beach in southern Tasmania after attempting to help children

A 38-year-old man has died during a beach rescue in southern Tasmania. Tasmania police say the man attempted to help children who were caught in strong currents while swimming at Carlton Beach. The man's next of kin has been notified. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
