Meta announced that Nick Clegg, president of global affairs, will step down and replace Joel Kaplan. Kaplan is the current vice president of policy and a former Republican Party staffer. He served as deputy chief of staff under President George W. Bush. He appeared alongside JD Vance and Donald Trump at the New York Stock Exchange in December. His attendance at Brett Kavanaugh's 2018 Supreme Court confirmation hearing as a personal friend sparked controversy for Meta.
