Local driver Mark Webber crossed the finish lane of his first F1 GP in 5th position, scoring 2 points with his Minardi. After the official podium ceremonies, he and team owner, local boy Paul Stoddart were invited to go to the podium to celebrate the exploit. After Stoddart and Webber gave an interview to british broadcaster ITV.
