So, when the family found themselves at a restaurant, they decided to pull off a little experiment.

"Pretending it's dad's birthday while at a restaurant (when it's not) to see if he'll actually smile for once," Ria shared with WooGlobe.

The plan was simple: get the waiters involved, bring out the clapping, and make a whole scene.
