Former RBI governor Shaktikanta Das was on Saturday appointed as the second Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Former IAS officer PK Mishra has been serving as PM Modi's first Principal Secretary since September 11, 2019.

Das's appointment will be "co-terminus" with the prime minister's term or until further orders, according to a central government circular.
