Australians will soon be paying more for private health cover with insurance companies announcing the highest annual rise in premiums in seven years. Insurers blame the rising cost of health care, but patient advocates say more people will be forced to cancel policies as out of pocket costs soar particularly for items such as specialist consults not covered.
