Cops have launched a murder hunt after a man in his 20s was shot dead outside a primary school in broad daylight.

West Midlands Police say the victim was gunned down yards from Eastfield Primary School in Wolverhampton just after 3.20pm on Tuesday (4/3).

Rescue teams raced to the scene in Eastfield Grove but despite desperate attempts to save the man he died at the scene.

Police say the murder was a "targeted attack".
