Mark Carney was sworn in as Canada’s prime minister on Friday, positioning him to tackle potential US tariffs under President Donald Trump that could impact Canada’s trade-dependent economy.

He took the oath of office in the presence of Governor General Mary Simon, the representative of King Charles.
