Thousands took to the streets across cities in Spain on Saturday (April 5) to demand more affordable housing, saying tourism, speculation and a rentier economy are driving prices beyond reach.

Spain is struggling to balance tourism growth with rising public concern over high rents fuelled by gentrification and short-term tourist rentals.
