Residents in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, have criticised the local council for spending £42,000 on repainting a pedestrian area in bright yellow, now known as "Custard Corner."

The new look, intended to "renew and refresh" the space, has been described as "vile," "nauseating," and "overpowering."

Locals are unhappy with the choice of colour, with some likening it to a gigantic double yellow line.

Critics argue the money could have been better spent on local services.

Despite this, the council defends the decision, stating the yellow paint was the most cost-effective option to improve the area following its pedestrianisation during the pandemic.
