Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has suggested that Malaysia diversify its trade markets to other countries following the United States' decision to impose high import tariffs on Malaysian goods.

Speaking on Sunday (April 13), Dr Mahathir said the new tariffs, announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, would make Malaysian products more expensive in the American market, potentially harming local manufacturing companies.
