Last week, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar launched an explosive attack on the Supreme Court over an order setting deadline for President to decide on bills. He said said India was never meant to have a democracy where judges function as lawmakers, the executive, and even as a "super Parliament". Just days later, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey criticised the Supreme Court and said that if it wants to make laws, then there is no need for Parliament in the country.
