Polish tourist turns love for PH into thriving food business

Originally visiting as a tourist in 2016, Maciek fell in love with Palawan’s beauty and the warmth of its people. What began as a passion for authentic Polish sausages (kielbasa) grew into 'Smak Kielbasy'—a successful meat processing business offering high-quality, traditional Polish products like smoked sausages, bacon, and ham. Despite challenges like the pandemic, Maciek and his team pivoted creatively, selling directly to retail customers and expanding from Palawan to Angeles City. Now, with FDA compliance and partnerships with hotels and restaurants, they’re bringing a taste of Poland to the Philippines. Maciek also shares his vision for fostering Polish-Filipino business ties through the upcoming Polish Chamber of Commerce.
