Ukraine's SBU security service announced it had carried out an underwater attack using explosives on the road and rail bridge connecting Russia to the Crimean peninsula on Tuesday.

A video shared by the SBU on social media appeared to show the moment of the explosion.

In an official statement, the SBU said it used 1,100kg of explosives in the early-morning operation, damaging the bridge’s underwater support pillars.

The structure is a critical supply line for Russian troops in Ukraine.
