Malacanang defends drug campaign publicity
Malacañang hit back at Vice President Sara Duterte for criticizing the move of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to witness the incineration of the illegal drugs, saying her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, also did the same during his time. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro even showed a published news article in 2020 to prove her point, saying, in a media briefing on June 26, 2025, that the report was 'not just for photo opportunities' but 'a warning to criminals' and 'an inspiration to citizens who want to eliminate illegal drugs.'
