Thousands of shoes were laid out in Almere's city square to represent Palestinian children killed in Gaza.
It is the 12th memorial protest in the Netherlands commemorating the children. UNICEF estimates over 50,000 children have been killed or injured since the conflict began.
The war began when Hamas stormed into Israel on October 7 2023, killed 1,200 people, most of them civilians, and took 251 hostages back to Gaza.
