The Yak-40 flying laboratory, operated by the Siberian Aeronautical Research Institute (SibNIA) and named after S.A. Chaplygin, has successfully completed its maiden test flight using the VK-800 turboprop engine, developed by JSC "UZGA" (Ural Civil Aviation Plant).

During the experimental flight, engineers evaluated the engine’s performance under various operating conditions. The aircraft remained airborne for approximately 15 minutes, reaching an altitude of 700 metres and a top speed of 340 km/h. According to the test engineers, the VK-800 operated stably throughout all phases — taxiing, take-off, cruising, and landing.
