GTA 6 - Jason being ex special forces...what would make him go back into a life of crime?

I’m curious, after his stint with, what we can assume, to be the equivalent of the Army Rangers in the GTA verse, what do you think would lead him back to a criminal lifestyle?

One would think he became disciplined, that he is also highly skilled etc. and coming out would view that life beneath him
