Fantasy figures come to life at San Diego Comic-Con on cosplay Saturday
Every year, Saturday, July 26, is the day that San Diego Comic-Con attendees take off their civilian clothes and dress up like their sci-fi and fantasy idols.
A wide variety of these characters come to life in and just outside the main convention center as well as around San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter.
Chad Atwell, 50, came all the way from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to cosplay (costume-play) The Thing from Marvel's Fantastic Four.
"Honestly, it's just a good way to express some of my creativity because I have a very boring job and I don't get to be creative in the day-to-day environment," Atwell told Reuters.
