Spike in Cases of Deadly Bacterial Infections After Storms in Southern Taiwan

Taiwan's CDC has confirmed three new cases of melioidosis and four new cases of leptospirosis since last week’s heavy rains in southern Taiwan. Both deadly infections are caused by close contact with or inhalation of contaminated water or mud.
