The Zambia Tennis Association (ZTA) is calling on the corporate world to increase its support for youth tennis development following the successful conclusion of the IFS Junior Tennis Tournament. The event, held at the Kansanshi Mine Golf Estate, brought together over 40 talented players under the age of 14 from cities including Kitwe, Ndola, Lusaka, and Solwezi.

Luanga Lumbeta, the ZTA Coordinator for the Northern Region, made the appeal, emphasizing that significant talent exists in rural areas and requires corporate backing to be properly nurtured. The tournament, sponsored by International Facilities Services (IFS) and hosted by FQM's Kansanshi Mine, provided a vital platform for young athletes to gain competitive experience.

Organizers and players alike hailed the event as a significant step in making tennis more accessible and developing the next generation of Zambian stars. Yolanda Pantuja and Mapalo Mlenga of Mufakani Tennis Club emerged as winners in the singles and doubles categories.
