Mumbai’s Aarey Colony Police have arrested 35-year-old makeup artist Rajshree Ahire for conspiring with her lover to murder her husband, Bharat Laxman Ahire.
Police said Bharat was assaulted on July 15 in Goregaon by Rajshree’s lover Chandrashekhar Padayachi and his associate Ranga, following a dispute over her alleged affair. Chandrashekhar repeatedly punched Bharat while Ranga restrained him, and Rajshree did not intervene.
Instead of seeking medical help, Rajshree kept her injured husband at home for three days. Her 13-year-old daughter alerted relatives about his worsening condition. Rajshree later claimed he was hurt in a bike accident, but Bharat died in a Malad hospital on August 5.
The daughter’s statement led to Rajshree’s arrest. Chandrashekhar and Ranga remain absconding.
