European leaders have been invited to join Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in his high-stakes meeting with US President Donald Trump in the White House on Aug 18 to finalise details of the settlement of the three-year-old Russia-Ukraine war.

Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Alaska on Aug 15, which Washington said resulted in "great progress" but no deal yet until follow-up meetings with Ukraine.
