Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has urged Asean members to unite against rising maritime threats, warning that fragmented responses would leave the region exposed.
Speaking at the 19th Asean Navy Chiefs’ Meeting (ANCM) in Penang on Tuesday (Aug 19), he cited challenges ranging from power rivalries and territorial disputes to cyber intrusions, disinformation, and “grey-zone” tactics like foreign incursions and maritime coercion.
