Malaysia’s abundant water and energy resources strengthen its appeal as a prime investment destination, supporting both industrial growth and population needs, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Speaking at the launch of the Langat 2 water treatment plant in Hulu Langat on Wednesday (Aug 20), Anwar said the state-of-the-art facility is a milestone in infrastructure development, boosting investor confidence in sectors such as data centres, semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI).

He also stressed the urgency of replacing ageing water pipes to curb wastage and reduce non-revenue water (NRW).
