Police cat 'Naruto' joins Chilean police force as mascot
A cat has captured hearts and gone viral after being adopted by a Chilean police station in the remote town of Porvenir, becoming an unlikely mascot for the local force. The feline named Naruto first arrived at the station when Officer Cristian Garrido rescued him as he was running away from dogs. Naruto now roams the police station corridors wearing a tiny police vest, earning him the affectionate nicknames 'General Michi' and 'Catbinero' - a playful combination of 'cat' and 'Carabineros,' the name of Chile's national police force. Officer Ricardo Tereucan says the feline has become an integral part of the team.
