Dans un entretien accordé à CNN, mercredi 10 septembre, le Premier ministre qatari Mohammed ben Abderrahmane al-Thani a qualifié de « barbare » la tentative d'assassinat des dirigeants du Hamas par Israël à Doha. « Nous pensions avoir affaire à des gens civilisés. […] Je n'ai pas de mots pour exprimer notre colère face à un tel acte. Nous sommes trahis », a-t-il ajouté. À ses yeux, la frappe israélienne a « tué tout espoir » pour les otages restants à Gaza, détenus par le Hamas.
