Christian Brückner – the prime suspect in the 2007 disappearance of Madeleine McCann – has been released from prison in northern Germany. The German national was released from Sehnde prison, near Hanover, having served a seven-year sentence for the rape of an elderly woman at her home in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2005.
