Boeing Co. is facing fresh legal challenges after families of victims from the Air India Flight 171 crash filed a lawsuit against the aerospace giant and Honeywell, according to Benzinga. The suit alleges a defective Honeywell fuel cutoff switch, installed by Boeing, caused both engines of the 787-8 Dreamliner to lose thrust seconds after takeoff in June, killing 261 people. Plaintiffs argue Boeing and Honeywell knew the switches were prone to accidental operation and failed to notify airlines or provide replacements, citing a 2018 FAA report. The families seek compensatory and punitive damages, naming four victims. Boeing shares rose 0.64% in premarket trading on Thursday.
