Japan, Philippines agriculture ministers speak on sidelines of Asean meeting in Manila

Japan Agriculture Minister Shinjiro Koizumi met with his Philippine counterpart Francisco Laurel Jr. on the sidelines of the ASEAN agriculture ministers meeting in Manila on Thursday (October 2).

The annual ministerial meeting of the 10-member bloc from Southeast Asia centers discussions on agricultural sustainability and food security. Partner countries from Japan, South Korea and China also joined the Plus Three meetings.

The meetings will also tackle impacts on climate change in Southeast Asia and its effect on the agriculture sector.
