Football fans paying close attention to Sunday morning's NFL game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Cleveland Browns may have noticed a cable getting in the way of a field goal attempt.
The 51-yard attempt from Vikings kicker Will Reichard looked to easily split the uprights before viciously curving outside the goal posts for the miss.
Some thought the kick may have just been shanked, or it was partially blocked at the line of scrimmage.
Yet, an overhead view shows the television camera's line above Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the ball's flight path, and it ricochets it away from the three points.
The ball should have been considered dead as soon as it touched the wire, leading to another 51-yard attempt. Instead, the Browns kept a 3-point lead midway through the fourth quarter.
A last-minute Carson Wentz touchdown pass saved the Vikings from having further fury at the NFL, as a 21-17 victory also helped clear the 3.5-point money line on Minnesota to win. Yet, the damage was already done.
