केंद्रीय मंत्री (Union Minister) किरेन रिजिजू (Kiren Rijiju) ने दार्जिलिंग (Darjeeling )जिले के बाढ़ प्रभावित इलाकों (flood-affected areas of the district) का दौरा कर नुकसान का जायजा लिया और लोगों से बातचीत की। किरेन रिजिजू (Kiren Rijiju) ने कहा कि अब तक हमने जो देखा है और रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक,दार्जिलिंग (Darjeeling ) में बारिश का प्रभाव बहुत बड़ा है। जान-माल का भारी नुकसान हुआ है। स्थानीय प्रतिनिधि और प्रशासन हर संभव प्रयास कर रहा है। रिजिजू (Kiren Rijiju) ने कहा कि इसके बावजूद राज्य सरकार को राहत कार्यों में तेज़ी लाने की ज़रूरत है।उन्होंने कहा कि हम चाहते हैं कि राज्य सरकार आपदा से प्रभावित लोगों की मदद करे, जिन्होंने अपनी आजीविका और घर खो दिए हैं उनका पुनर्वास किया जाना चाहिए।
