US President Donald Trump was seen posing for photographs with world leaders attending the Gaza peace summit in Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday, an event aimed at securing a comprehensive end to the war in the Gaza Strip.

Footage shows Trump standing alongside leaders from Palestine, Qatar, and Turkey, as well as the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and the Saudi Foreign Minister. Presidents and senior officials from Britain, France, Germany, Spain, and several other nations also took part in the group photo.

The summit brought together more than 20 Arab and Western delegations, focusing on implementing the ceasefire agreement and establishing a post-war framework for Gaza’s reconstruction and governance.

Trump arrived in Sharm El Sheikh on Monday evening, following his visit to Israel, where he met with officials, oversaw the release of Israeli hostages, and delivered a speech at the Knesset.

The exchange process began on Monday morning, with Hamas releasing 20 Israeli hostages and handing them to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which then transferred them to the Israeli army.

Later in the day, the Israeli military and Shin Bet security agency confirmed that Hamas no longer holds any living hostages.

Buses carrying released Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons subsequently arrived in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, where they were met with emotional homecomings and mass gatherings.

On September 29, Trump unveiled a 20-point Gaza plan alongside Netanyahu, calling for an immediate end to fighting and the release of all hostages, alive or deceased, within 72 hours, as well as 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 1,700 Gazans detained after 7 October 2023.

The plan also allows the full entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, offers amnesty to Hamas members who accept peace, and provides safe passage for those who refuse, while stressing that no one will be forced to leave the enclave.

Hamas accepted the US-brokered proposal under conditions ensuring a lasting peace and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

On October 9, both sides formally signed the agreement, outlining the exchange of hostages and prisoners and the immediate delivery of humanitarian and medical aid to the Gaza Strip.
