National badminton mixed doubles coach Nova Widianto said reigning world champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei will likely skip the back-to-back Kumamoto Masters and Australian Open from Nov 11-23 to prevent the shoulder injury plaguing Tang Jie from flaring up.

Widianto said whether the world No. 4 pair could compete in the two tournaments will depend on the results of further checks and evaluation of Tang Jie's injury by the doctors.

Tang Jie suffered pain in his right shoulder after their second round win in the French Open last week.
