At least 64 people have reportedly died following a police operation targeting a gang in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro. On Tuesday, Oct. 28, the police targeted the Red Command gang in Rio de Janeiro's northern suburbs, near the international airport, according to U.K. newspaper The Times and the BBC. While their aim was to serve arrest warrants to the leading members of the drug trafficking gang, the operation tuned into what has been described as the largest and deadliest raid in Rio de Janeiro's history, per the BBC.
