The Government has announced more than 1 billion pounds to “turbocharge” the building of new social and affordable homes across the North East.The investment aims to help deliver thousands of properties, with regional mayor Kim McGuinness given powers to shape where and what types of homes are built.
Sites around key transport links, riverside areas, and town centres are expected to be prioritised.
